Windows 10: Problem with External Hard Disks

A few weeks ago, I sometimes encountered read/write errors with my external hard drives, not just one hard drive, which were connected to my laptop, would like to seek for advice how to resolve it.Environment:HP Envy 16, 12th Gen Intel i7-12700H 2.3GHz, 64GB RAMOS = WIN11 Home 64Bit, Version 23H2, OS Build 22631.4541External Disk Drives: Basically 1 Sandisk 2TB SSD & ASUS ROG Strix Arion M.2 NVMe SSD, connected through Type-C port & USB-C Multiport adapter; and 2 5TB Seagate One Touch w/PW SCSI Disk Device, directly connected via USB Type-A cables to the Superspeed 10GbPs ports of

External Hard disk contents are not visible.

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Do you hear any clicking sound when connecting your hard disk?

external hard disk is listed in device manager but I cannot access the disk etc
