Windows 10: Problem with factory resetting a laptop

I am stuck in a loop. I tried to factory reset my laptop so I could sell it. I followed what I saw online. It worked until about 25% then said there was a TPM error and I selected F12 to erase the TPM, then it said undoing changes, and I was placed onto the login page. When I attempted to log back in it said my user profile could not be updated. I see everything online and I am confused on how to fix this problem. Any help would be great.
