  1. Problem with File Explorer with the most recent update of Windows 11 24H2

After the most recent update to my Windows 11 24H2 desktop, my File Explorer no longer lists Desktop among the standard folders on the left side of the window. But all my desktop files are listed under Downloads. When I look at the actual file structure using Power Shell, it lists Desktop as it always has under /users/[my username], and the Desktop folder has all of my desktop files. But there is no Downloads folder anymore. It's as though the File Explorer has renamed the Desktop folder to Downloads and combined it with the old Downloads folder. What on earth is going on?

    :)

    ...

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

    Factory reset Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100.863)

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There are no currently listed problems resetting version 24H2 of Windows 11 and no specific steps you need to perform, are you experiencing any problems with that insider build that is causing you to perform a Windows reset?

Problem with File Explorer with the most recent update of Windows 11 24H2

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
