Windows 10: Problem with GEMALTO smart card reader on windows 11

I'm having a problem with smart card reader GEMALTO CT40 on windows 11 home 64 bit. It doesn't reed my ID all the time, even though Windows sees it and recognize it's a card reader, and I can see it in Device Manager. When I try to log in on eGovernment in my country, Windows security says: "the smart card requires drivers that are not present on this system...". First of, I'm getting this info with or without installed drivers. Second, this card reader with my ID works fine on Windows Vista. Please help!

smart card reader is not working on lenovo t440

I use a gemalto smart card usb token, wich was used for secure signing of official documents on my laptop until the last major win10 update in august. (1903) After that the gemalto card stopped working...

The problem is, that a win10 service for smartcard-s starts and stops after 10 secs, so the service is not working, which means, that the usb token is recognised in the hardwere list of the operation system, but it can't be used and it gives a malefunction
signal, a blinking green led-light display.

So its a very annoying bug, i can't do my job properly on my laptop, but Microsoft do not show up with the very needed bug-fix.

What can i do now? Any suggestions?

 

Use EMV-enabled Credit Card (chip card) for Windows Smart Card log-in?

I have a USB Smart Card Reader and a Credit Card with Smart Chip (EMV) on it. So I was wondering if I can associate this card to my Windows Administrator profile (local user account) and use it as a second layer of protection for my log-in? If yes, how can I do this? I'm using Windows 10.

WIndows 10 Compatible Smart Card Reader

I've been using an SCR3500 USB smart card reader for military websites for years with Windows 7. I've since found that this particular reader has been deprecated and will not work with my new Windows 10 machine.

Is there anyone out there using a smart card reader with Windows 10? If so, what make and model reader are you using? And yes, I've been to militarycac.com before someone suggests it. The site is offers a lot of suggestions but none of which are fixing
my problem. Any assistance would greatly appreciated.
