Windows 10: Problem With Internet On A New Router

Hey so bought a new router yesterday and i spent the whole day trying to find the option to connect the wifi to my sons laptop and i know how to connect wifi it will have a list but in the list the wifi was never there. I spent 5 hours trying to add it but i couldnt could anyone help on this? Windows 11

New Router - Windows connected to internet but shows not connected

Apologies, for my late response.

The Problem is still there. I have tried all the steps including uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. I think if I give you a brief background it may help.

My computer is what you call an assembled one with majority parts from ASUS (motherboard, graphics card, wireless card etc.). I updated to Windows 10 a while back and it has been working fine. Only issue I had for last month or two was that it was not letting
me install new apps or update existing especially Netflix one. I didn't pay attention to it. About six months ago, I updated my modem/router and had no problems.

Recently, I relocated and had to go with a different Internet provider as old one did not provide to new address. The new provider supply their own router/modem (Telstra). I set up the new connection through my Mobile as per steps provided along with
the new router. I did not have my computer with me at the time. When I got my computer, I tried to connect it to the new router. The computer shows my router in the wireless list and connects to to but shows no internet. But if you use google chrome or microsoft
edge they connect to internet even though the symbol at the bottom shows no connection. This, to me, shows there is a connection and some software issue is telling windows that there is none. As I use MS Office 365 especially MS Outlook adn MS
Word this is causing me issue as windows internal packages are not connecting to internet.

Router Problems!!

i have a netgear rangemax wpn824V2 . the problem is that i cant connect to tha internet. the modem works fine. its the router thats causing me problems.

ok so my internet icon is YELLOW, my computer ports, power, and wireless are green. i plugged everything together and my computer says the "local area connection connected" but i cant connect to the internet. (aim..internet explroer..etc,)

any suggestions on what i can do?
i already tried restarting modem and router. the problem still occours

 

DNS problems with router

A couple suggestions I have for you:

Update the firmware on the router. Maybe it's getting into a badstate, and a firmware update might fix it. Or if you're comfortable with it, install a custom firmware like dd-wrt. Just make sure its supported on your router first.

Change your DNS to: 8.8.8.8, 4.2.2.1. Might help.

If none of these work, maybe statically set your DNS on your PS3/PC to the IPs you listed, taking the router out of the lookup procedure.

Last option, is look for a new router.
