Windows 10: Problem with link to reset Account Password

Hello - I have been trying to rest a Microsoft Account Password. The information I provided has ben verified through Microsoft security and a link sent to allow me to reset the password. When you click on the link it takes you to 'Reset you password' when you then can enter the email of the relevant account. When we enter the email it says 'Try entering your Microsoft account again. We don't recognise this one.' We have tried a number of times and have checked that the email is the correct one that we have verified.Any suggestions?Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but it does not help me. The website does not proceed past step 4. After entering the security code, the website does not proceed to step 5. It does not give an error message, it simply greys out the next and cancel buttons and hangs
indefinitely.

• If you've added security info to your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter that code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password.

I'll try your "Get account help by email" suggestion and post the solution here when I've found one.

• Select Password security.
• Type your current password, then type a new password and type it again to verify.
• Select Save.
  

If you going to use a password make a new Account without a password so if you need to get back in your computer if you can.
