Windows 10: Problem with loading folders with photos from 1903 update to present

Hello,

I've had this problem since I receive the 1903 update.

When i open a folder with RAW+JPEG files, it becomes unusable until it "scans" each file as you can see in attached video.

If i have a folder with a few thousand of RAW+JPEG it takes a long time to be ready and i select few photos and take Copy or Cut, the Windows Explorer has crash and i must to go back and repeat every step again and again...


I am a professional photographer and i work with many photos.


This problem slows down my work significantly!


I have this problem on few devices, 3 laptops and 2 desktop computers.

Set default presentation not working correctly since 1903 update

Hi,

Windows 10 struggles to memorize the default file presentation (sort order, icon size, etc.) I set in File Explorer via the traditional procedure: "View>Options>View tab>Apply to all folders."

For instance:

When I set presentation A (very large icons, sort by date) for folders with mainly pictures, then I set presentation B (list, sort by name) for folders with mainly documents, Windows will erase the presentation A I set for picture-based folders, and goes
on.

The feature worked like a charm in previous versions of Windows 10. The issue only appeared on 1903 update.

Your suggested actions are very technical - hardly for 'the man in the street'

If I understand correctly, in simple terms, you are suggesting changing the path/method of obtaining the 1903 update but still installing it anyway -

Surely if the problem is actually with the 1903 update then the result will be the same problems irrespective of how it is applied?

Please could you clarify in simple terms, step by step, what your suggested actions actually do and how this may solve the problem.

how to restore photos in picasa deleted by mistake

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• 
  Did you delete the photos from the PC?
  
• 
  Did you check if the photos are present in File Explorer?
  

If any files, folders, documents are deleted accidently from the PC,
Recycle bin holds them if the size of the deleted items are containable. Check if the photos folder is present in
Recycle bin.



Step 1: Check if the files and folders are present in your PC using
Cortana by following the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows icon key on the keyboard and type the file or folder name in the search box.
  
• 
  Select the search result which shows folder and drive location of the program.
  
• 
  Follow the file or folder path of the program and check if it is the file you are looking for.
  

Step 2: If you are unable to view the pictures using Picasa application, I suggest you to follow the steps below:

• 
  Open Windows File Explorer by pressing
  Windows key + E keys on the keyboard.
  
• 
  Open the file or folder where pictures are located.
  
• 
  Right click on a picture and hover your mouse over to
  Open with option.
  
• 
  Select Picasa from the option and check if you are able the view the pictures in
  Picasa photo viewer.
  

If the issue persists, I suggest you to contact the application manufacturer for further assistance.
