Windows 10: Problem with Microsoft Store and Minecraft Installer for Windows 10/11

Yesterday I bought Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition from the official Mojang site, I downloaded the installer for Windows 10/11, my OS is Windows 11. I tried running the installer as administrator, it doesn't even load, it just gives me the message "we weren't able to install the app 0xUnknownAppInstall". I think the problem might also be Microsoft Store, since I can't even open an app chosen by me from the store, it takes forever to load without response. So I tried to install Minecraft via MS store, going to "My Library", "Manage" Minecraft then "Install" and it gives me the error "Tr

Minecraft installation in Microsoft store

We understand your concern as you are unable to install Minecraft in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  

• Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?
  
• Does this issue occur for all games & apps from the store?
  

• What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?
• Do you get any error message or code?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the game.

Step 1: Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the
Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
> Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

Step 3: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and then try installing the game.

Step 4: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to

create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when the game doesn't get installed as it should.

Please answer these questions to get clarity on this issue:

1. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to this issue?
   
2. Is the issue specific to this game?
   
3. Are you referring to Minecraft app from Windows Store?
   
4. Are you able to install other apps from the Microsoft Store?
   
5. Are you able to uninstall the app?
   

However, let us follow these methods and check if that makes any difference.

Method 1: If your answer to the Q-5 is No, then suggest you to follow the steps from this article to

fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store. Once the steps are done, remember to restart the PC.

Method 2: To uninstall the app that is downloaded from the Microsoft Store, refer to the steps from this article.

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
