Windows 10: Problem with Mini-USB Drive included with WIN 10 Home Edition

Question - How do I remove the tight Blue Cover from the Mini-USB Drive that is included with WIN 10 Home Retail Version ????

USB to Mini USB problems.

I replaced my LG external CD-ROM drives cord. It plugs into the laptops USB port and uses a Mini USB to plug into the CD-ROM reader. However after updating to Windows 10 the Mini USB specifically will not be recognized by the computer (code 43). I have
shut down the laptop (can not take out battery), and have uninstalled, and reinstalled the USB controllers. Neither have worked. Any suggestions?

 

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!

 

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.
