Windows 10: Problem with opening with shortcuts

I have Windows 10 pro and a 64 bit OS. This doesn't happen when I first start windows but after a while or when I place it in sleep mode. I will click on desktop shortcut and a dialogue box opens asking if I would like to delete the shortcut. Also on the task bar sometimes there are 3 or 4 delete indication but if I have the computer in sleep mode for a while I will notice that there is dozens of delete indications in the task bar. I ran a full virus scan and nothing. Could there be a virus where my virus software Panda is not scanning? I have had Panda for over 20 years and never had

How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

• Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
• Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
• Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
• Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.

 

Create shortcut to open website in Edge when IE is default webbrower

Thank you for the suggestion, but this poses two problems for my users:

1. The icon is that of a batch file and not of Edge, which would require me to change the icon for each shortcut on each PC.
2. This starts a command prompt window which pops up momentarily, which is confusing for a user.

I'd like to (ideally) have shortcut that has the Edge icon and opens in Edge directly.
