Windows 10: Problem with "Secure Boot" in my HP PC's BIOS

Hi Everyone As we all know that Win 11 needs an enabled Secure Boot to upgrade on PCs as per Microsoft's new recruitments. So, I checked my PC's BIOS and got that there was no "Secure Boot Configuration" option available.Then I check my PC's system summary and got Secure Boot unsupported btw BIOS mode is UEFIThen I run Confirm-SecureBootUEFI command in powershell and get following output:Variable is currently undefined: 0×C0000100Instead of "Cmdlet not supported on this platform" if secure boot was unsupported.What is the meaning of this? And when I SHIFT+ RESTART my pc and troubleshoot to

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

 

Secure Boot Violation error

I understand that you receive a warning regarding Secure Boot Violation when booting the PC. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below:

1. 
   
   1. What is the make and model of the PC?
      
   2. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
      

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and see if that helps.



Method 1:



Try loading the BIOS to default settings and see if the issue persist. You may want to get in touch with the manufacturer of the PC for further assistance with resetting BIOS.



In addition, you can check if any update for BIOS is available and try updating the BIOS by contacting the manufacturer.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems
resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.



Method 2:



Disable Driver Signature Enforcement, and see if you are able to boot to Windows normally.

1. Now press Windows +
   S key together to open Search.
   
2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Accept the UAC prompts.
   
4. Type in the following command and hit Enter:
   
   bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on
   
5. Restart the PC
