    Problem with "Select Which Icons Appear On Taskbar"


    This question has been asked before, "I have a question, under "Start Menu -> Settings -> Notifications & actions -> Select icons which appear on the taskbar", how does one do maintenance on the list so it only shows items that are currently installed as it seems uninstalled items are still showing up on the list." However the answer has been tried but did not solve it for me. I still have uninstalled app icons showing up. I have deleted "iconstreams", there is no "pasticonstreams" to delete, I have ran registry cleaner, disk clean up, registry search for the apps, c:\ drive search for left overs etc etc etc to no avail. The icons or app shortcuts must be hiding somewhere but the question is where? Any help would be appreciated. The Ghost...... *Huh

    "Safely remove hardware" icon not showing on taskbar

    Go into Settings > Personalisation > Taskbar. Near the bottom, in Notification Area, Click "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". Now you can decide which icons you do want to appear.

    Quick Action "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" fails to run.

    The earlier problems with the Taskbar were all cleared with the "PowerShell" solution, but this problem remains. When "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" is selected, a screen with an "on/off" button, with off selected, flashes for less than 1 sec.
    I have run sfc /scannow and re-indexed the system with no effect on this item. sfc reports "no problem".

    Problem with "Select Which Icons Appear On Taskbar"

    I have the exact opposite problem. One of my programs disappeared from the ability to show up at all in notifications. I also have tried the batch to clear iconstreams and pasteiconstream with no luck. On another system the same program "IS" in notifications and it was also on the other system until this morning. I have not found any method of manually controlling what does and what does not appear in the notifications list. Additionally, some programs when I go under settings , select which icons to show, some of the programs show a black square with no icon yet the program is fine and the desktop icon is there.
