    Problem with sign in after wiping desktop in preparation to sell Windows 10


    Hello,I have a desktop running Windows 10 and I'm getting ready to sell it. I chose to delete all files from all drives and toggled "clean data" on. At one point in the reset process, I saw a confirmation screen. I forget exactly what it said now but I said yes/confirmed instead of saying no/hitting Escape.Now, when I turn on the computer, I'm prompted to log into my account. It says that my PIN has been disabled because of a change in security settings. When I enter my password, it gives me an error message and returns me to the login screen. There's no way to sign in to a different user.I

    Hi Jennifer,

    I realize that at startup your PC always says preparing for windows. I will try to help you with this issue.


    • Are you signing in to a Local account or the Microsoft account?
    Suggest you to boot the PC in Safe Mode to check if that helps. Once you are in the desktop screen you may boot the PC in a clean boot state to check the status.
