  1. Problem with significant white noise when recording with Audacity using plug in earbuds but...

I have a PC running Windows 10 2004 and I use Audacity as a recorder. When I use Apple earbuds that are carefully set up using the "Sound" setup procedures I get very noticeable 2 to 3% of peak white noise in recordings. But, when I record using microphone audio from a mixer via USB , there is no white noise. I"ve replaced the earbuds, microphone driver, rebooted, set to the defaults and the white noise is unchanged.

I have another Windows 10 PC with same software and when I use the same earbuds I don't get any white noise. How can I resolve the issue?

    :)

Realtek inbuilt laptop microphone records white noise only

Recently my laptops in built microphone has not been working properly. When I attempt to record with it the actual file output is just a file that plays back white noise. I assume its a driver problem as the microphone is still seen by the OS and manages to "record" however the eventual output is just white noise. The problem doesn't seem to be volume either as even after applying a 20db boost to the microphone it still only outputs white noise. I am using a realtek (r) audio driver at version 6.0.1.8475. My OS version is windows 10, version 1809.

  3. White noise

The other sort of strange thing is that with the ear buds plugged into the audio port the white noise substantially stops but every now and then a burst of noise sounds. I'm haven't figured out why but it does still burst out with very loud white noise now
and then. The ear buds don't play the white noise at all and they will play audio normally when plugged in. Games sounds are fine, Pandora music plays fine. It has me buffaloed!

    Computer noise when recording

    Hi Everyone,

Running Win 10 on a Surface pro 4. When I'm recording via voice recorder with the inbuilt mic, or using Audacity, I'm getting a lot of crackling noises.

Have adjusted recording volumes, looked at various solutions, but nothing works.

Has anyone else found this problem? If so how did you resolve it?

    Cheers

    Rob
