    Problem with tech terminology

The problem is that I am just another John Q. Public, and have NO degrees, in computer programming.Yet Microsoft, and other companies, keep sending me messages, which only degreedprogrammers can understand. How do I instruct Microsoft to stop sending me degreed messages, and start sending me messages which are presented in the same HUMAN English, that I am using here.HOW am I supposed to understand the "foreign language" of computers, when I, barely, understand English????

    :)

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

  4. Problem with tech terminology

    New terminology in Windows10

What we have is the classic "failure to communicate".

    Someone at Microsoft decides that

    1) they or "the user" will more easily understand or relate to the meaning of the new terminology over the old standard terminology that has been used for years (this, of course, more prone to be aimed toward new users by default)

    2) they believe that something is cool or "hip" or whatever jargaon or lingo they think is currently on the cutting-edge for those that are trendy or in-the-know. This can include new terms or new hieroglyphics that are substituted for the tried-and-true.
I'm sure some would say this is done to make it easier for comprehension by an international audience by making new non-cultural specific icons or terms.

What this means to us the user is quite obvious if we are familiar with Gaming.

Games don't bother giving much of any documentation any more. You must search the internet to find out some of the most basic facts about game and many levels of functionality are completely undocumented are entirely left to the user to figure out on their
    own.

It isn't user-friendly, and it isn't intuitive, It simply laziness on the side of designers.

The same can be said for the use of new terms and icons. It's simply ignorant to keep shifting the basic control scheme of game controllers because as a DEVs you want to be cool and do something different. This isn't helpful to the user. The worse case for
this is when they set you up with some "unique" configuration and refuse to allow you to remap your keybinds, etc.

The goal appears to be to make things "as simple as possible". In Windows 8.1, that meant to make your computer function like a tablet or smart phone. (A step backwards as far as I'm concerned) Windows 10 is "supposed" to be step toward bringing back the
Windows OS so computers can function like computers and not function like a smart phone or tablet <--- at least this is the way that I understand it.

So yeah, even here, you aren't getting information from Microsoft Technicians you are getting information from other users. Microsoft has side-stepped assisting customers by some-how luring users to answer other users questions .... just like gaming companies.
