Windows 10: Problem with the fingerprint sensor after each Windows 11 update

My computer is equipped with a fingerprint reader whose driver is up to date. Egis Technology The problem is that every time there is a Windows 11 update, the setting that allows the computer to turn off the device to save energy is automatically activated even if it was deactivated before the update. I have to turn it off each time after an update and the computer goes to sleep. With the number of updates, it becomes very tedious. The manufacturer Egis Technology states that the problem comes from Windows 11 and not its driver. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this problem? T

Fingerprint sensor stopped working

I recently purchased an Acer Spin 3 SP313-51N, and the fingerprint sensor has stopped working. While I was trying to login using the sensor, there was a message that said "there was a problem on our end," so I tried to troubleshoot the problem by restarting. Only now the fingerprint sensor has entirely disappeared from the operating system and is no longer listed in device manager. I have tried installing the driver from Acer's website but the fingerprint sensor still doesn't appear anywhere, and Windows Hello is disabled, with the message "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint"

 

Fingerprint sensor disabled by Windows 10 update 1803

I recently installed update 1803 on my HP Windows 10 laptop. The fingerprint sensor stopped working. I don't know if was turned off or disabled or what.

Is there a way I can fix it? I found a thread about it here, but I'm not sure what they they are suggesting.

It updated from:

The new driver exits with the code 31.
