Windows 10: Problem with Webcam

I'm on an Asus VivoBook and my camera is not working. The camera app shows a blank screen. The device manager says 'The device is working properly'. However, in the event log, it says 'Device USB\VID_322E&PID_2012&MI_00\7&11cbd490&0&0000 requires further installation'. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the camera device but that did not work. I also tried updating drivers but it says 'You already have the best drivers installed'. Any ideas or fixes?This is shown under the event properties windowevice USB\VID_322E&PID_2012&MI_00\7&11cbd490&am

Webcam not working in Windows 10 Pro on Microsoft camera app and not on Skype

Since you mentioned that you already reinstalled the driver for your webcam, we suggest that you perform these troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern:

• Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps.
• Install the driver using the compatibility mode.

Windows 10 webcam problem

The drivers for the Imaging devices, which include the webcam, are not displayed in the Device Manager. To resolve this problem, use the following steps:

Restart your computer.

If the problem persists, continue using these steps.

In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

If there is no Imaging devices category listed, select Action, then Scan for hardware changes.

If Device Manager does not recognize the webcam after the scan, use Microsoft System Restore to go back to a time when the webcam was working properly.

If problems persist, the webcam might have become unplugged internally, and the computer might require service to correct the issue.

In Windows, search for and open Recovery Manager.

Select Reinstall drivers and/or applications, and then click Next when prompted.

Select the appropriate Software program (such as Cyberlink YouCam or MediaSmart Webcam), and select Install.

If prompted, click Next to first uninstall the selected program.

The program uninstalls, and then reinstalls.
