Windows 10: Problem with Windows 10 (1809 build) and wide gamut monitor.

I have problem with Eizo CG2420 and newest build of windows 10. After the update, there is new Tab inside Settings->System->Sidplay called Windows HD color. You can setup there if you want to use HDR or WCG of your monitor. The problem is that windows show that my monitor cannot show WCG and now in LR, photoshop or other software that uses color profiles colors are oversaturated - I can't use wide gamut profiles anywhere and I was using them with no problem 2 hours ago with previous build. It's in polish, but last option should be Tak (yes) instedof Nie (no). Is there a solution for that? Reinstalling drivers gave me nothing. Thank you for any help.



System: Windows 10 64b build 1809
Graphics: GeForce 1060 with lates drivers
Monitor: Eizo CG2420 with lates colornavigator

Monitor calibration, error message: "This display currently uses a wide-gamut color profile. The display color calibration will create a color profile with a conventional gamut"

I use a DELL SP2309W monitor for my photography. Since upgrading to Win dows 19 I get an error message whenI open Photoshoh which requests me to re run my Calibration software. When I Try to Calibrate in Windows 10 I get this error message:

"This display currently uses a wide-gamut color profile. The display color calibration will create a color profile with a conventional gamut, which may be a poor fit for this display and result in distorted color appearance. Do you want to continue? Yes/No"

Can anyone please advise me how I can correctly calibrate my Monitor.

What makes you say that? This monitor has hardware calibration support and works internally with a 12-Bit LUT so that should not be a problem. Besides, 'wide gamut' means that there is a large color space (deeper reds, deeper blues etc.), not necessarily more colors (in terms of color count).

By the way, have you ever tried to enable 10-Bit color support in Windows/Linux/MacOS? It's definitely not that easy... First you need a professional graphics card (Quadro/FirePro etc.), none of the consumer cards (GTX 580 / HD 6970 etc.) support that. Second you need software that support 10-Bit Deep Color (like Photoshop). Best case is that your normal applications without Deep Color support work like they used to (eventually a bit slower), worst case is they don't work at all because they don't support rendering at 10-Bit (30-/40-Bit). I have a Dell U3011 wich has 10-Bit color support and i have tried that... *Smile

The problem with the new Eizo is that it is a 16:9 aspect. Noone is going to pay this much just to watch movies and for content creation it is just too wide with a too small dot pitch (at least for windows until microsoft implements proper dpi-scaling).
