Windows 10: Problem with Windows 10 update after recent version of 20H2

Hi there,


I have been experiencing problems with Windows 10 update for a few months ever since I have updated to version 20H2.


Basically, when I go to Windows Update I will see the following Error Message:



When I click on Retry, I will see the following for a very short time.



Then the status will go back to the previous status as shown below:



If I try to click on 'Download and Install' 2021-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems KB5000842, the following is what is captured:



Then nothing happens, we are back to exactly the same status as before with the Error Encountered message.


I have tried to use Windows Update troubleshooter but there were no problems identified.




I wonder anyone has encountered similar problem like myself and what did you do to fix the problem.

Overall, I don't have any issues using my PC as in there is no failure or crashes, everything software or application level is working fine.

Appreciate anyone with similar encounter share what can be done to rectify this problem. I have tried the method provided by Windows tech support as shown below to be executed from Command Prompt window with Administrator rights but it didn't work.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 version 20H2

The computer in question had Windows 7 on it and there was not an option to uninstall the 20H2 update. So I have reverted back to Windows 7. Is there a way to download and install Windows 10 version 2004? The games will work on that version but not the
20H2 version.

Hi team...my most recent version is windows 10 20H2 , despite that the office 2010 32 bit updates are failing with the error code 0x80070643....i checked several times and updated office 2019 on my PC.

unable to find a solution, and it seems that if eventually that will fail....ultimately operating system clean install option will be the last remaining option, which I do not want to do.....

kindly suggest what to do?
