Windows 10: Problem with windows color depth after driver update

    Problem with windows color depth after driver update


    Well the thing is I updated windows yesterday which included some driver updates, one of them was for my display. I haven't changed any of my windows settings in the last 4 months. So the issue began today, I was using my laptop then suddenly the color depth of my screen noticeably increased. Then over the next some hours the problem increased more. Then I tried to get help from the internet but none of them solved the issue. with my given screen shot you guys can see if your familiar with the icons that the colors are way more deeper. So I look forward in receiving your help because its just unusual to see these colorsProblem with windows color depth after driver update [​IMG]

    Color bit depth is at 6-bit on Display properties of Windows 10 pro

    Try the below suggested steps and check if the suggested options are available to change the Color bit Depth value



    1. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
    2. Expand the Display, and then highlight the Change resolution.
    3. On the right side, check if there is 8 bpc listed under
      Output color depth.
    4. You may select 8 bpc and restart the device to witness the changes.

    If your adapter supports 16-bit color depth mode, you could refer to the pic I attached to set a specified program to run in 16-bit color mode.
