Windows 10: Problem with your PIN - do you want to download an app?

I think my Win11 is corrupt. My login page says "there's a problem with your pin - you need to reset." When I try to do that, it comes back and says, "You need an app for this - do you want to search the App Store?" If I say, yes, nothing happens. If I say no/cancel, I'm back at the problem with your pin page. I've tried booting in safe mode and repairing, no luck. I gave up and selected "Reset this PC" and it downloaded or tried a fresh copy of Windows and when it was 100% complete, it said, "Undoing Changes." Where do I go from here?

How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.

Pinning Downloaded Applications

• How you are trying to pin apps?

I suggest you to run the system maintenance troubleshooter and check.

Method 1: Run the troubleshooter.

• Press Windows + X key.
• Go to Control panel.
• In the search box, type Troubleshooter
  and then click Troubleshooting.
• Under System and Security,
  
• Click on System Maintenance and Click on Next button.

Follow the steps to pin the program or app in start menu.

• Right click on the program or app.
• Click on Pin to start option.
• The program or app shall be add in start page.

What happened to the Pin icon in the Windows Money app?

Go to your App list.

Look for the app.

Tap and hold the app, and tap "Pin to

start".

Go back to your Start Screen, swipe at the bottom part and you will see there the icon of the apps that you just pinned.
