Windows 10: Problems installing KB4577671 // Error 0x800f0831

Hi.



I have issues installing the following update: "2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems KB4577671" - i get the install error - 0x800f0831.



I have tried many different things to make this update install, from manual installation, updated troubleshooter, to restore health, etc. and I came nowhere. Here is the CBS.log as it seems like there is a missing package but i cannot decode which one is it...


Store corruption, manifest missing for package: Microsoft-Windows-Product-Data-EKB-Wrapper-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.18362.418


Failed to resolve package 'Microsoft-Windows-Product-Data-EKB-Wrapper-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.18362.418' [HRESULT = 0x800f0831 - CBS_E_STORE_CORRUPTION]

Windows update error Error 0x800f0831

I am trying to update my laptop and everytime it shows this 2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4577671) - Error 0x800f0831 . What can i do?

I created a Windows 10 ISO and attempted to do a clean install. I got an error message, installation not completed, returned to earlier settings. In the System app, under Upgrades, under update history, got the Error message, 0x800f0831. Any ideas?

Hello try the DISM method just follow these steps:

1. Open Command Prompt, to do this right click on the start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin).

2. In the command prompt type:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

and press enter

This will scan and fix the corrupted system files of your device.

If DISM doesn't fix the problem then try to this suggested fix by Microsoft:
