I am having problems installing Bluetooth drivers for Targus BLUETOOTH 4.0 DUAL-MODE MICRO USB ADAPTER. I am using the drivers listed on the setup manual, however whenever I try to install them it displays the error message "Could not start the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack". I have tried everything on the troubleshooting page, and the Windows 11 troubleshooter simply says that Bluetooth is not available on this device, however the device appears in the device manager under "Other devices" with a small yellow warning icon. I am having problems installing Bluetooth drivers for Targus BLUETOOTH 4.0 DUAL-MODE MICRO USB ADAPTER. I am using the drivers listed on the setup manual, however whenever I try to install them it displays the error message "Could not start the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack". I have tried everything on the troubleshooting page, and the Windows 10 troubleshooter simply says there is no Bluetooth device connected, however the device appears in the device manager under "Other devices" with a small yellow warning icon. I also have ensured that the service automatically starts on startup, and I have switched the Bluetooth Support Service between manual and automatic. I have also tried unplugging and re-plugging the dongle multiple times.

Thank you for your description of the problem. Currently you are worried that the Targus external device cannot be installed and used normally. You've tried some of the simpler fixes, but the problem doesn't seem to be resolved.

I noticed that you said you saw a driver in the device Manager with a yellow warning icon in the lower right corner, which indicates that the driver has been in an abnormal state.

Please allow me to express my opinion. This problem can be caused by a variety of reasons, such as the Bluetooth function of the computer device itself is not normal, or the mouse driver provided by the installation manual may be old and cause the installation failure.

Please visit your computer manufacturer's website to download the Bluetooth driver for your device model and then reinstall the Bluetooth driver on your computer. After reinstallation, please use other Bluetooth devices to test whether the computer can be connected properly. If yes, it proves that the Bluetooth driver has recovered. Otherwise, it indicates that the Bluetooth function of the device is abnormal and needs maintenance.

When the Bluetooth function of the computer equipment is restored, I recommend that you directly visit the official Targus external device driver download site, directly obtain the latest version of your mouse model driver, and then the installation of the driver. After this series of operations, your Targus external device should be able to connect to your computer via Bluetooth and use it normally.

Promate Bluetooth™ 4.0 USB Adapter !

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?
