Windows 10: problems with games on windows 10 and onedrive

First off, the problem is directly related to onedrive and the fact that there is NO WAY to exclude a folder from being synced when you include a parent folder

For example, I do NOT want my games folders that are forced to be located in my documents folder, to be synced or backup-ed at all.

Since there is no way to change the location of where the games need to be, and onedrive doesn't allow for My Documents sub folders from being excluded, I am forced to either have a terrible time with my laptop and later my desktop, or I have to forgo with the backup entirely. OR figure out each and every file that I have in the games folder and include those in the exclusion... oh wait that was in google backup, which also doesn't allow for folders to be excluded but at least I can easily tell it not to sync certain file types... not ideal since there are usually hundreds of files types in those folders, but at least doable.

At present the only solution I can think of, to retain the backup ability of my files and still be able to play games is to make a separate profile that is only for gaming, making it very annoying and why don't I just go to linux then?

Either give me the ability to EXCLUDE a folder in My Documents, from being synced or fix the heuristics it uses so that it won't backup those files and sync them across computers, which by the way, is a prime source of windows instability!!!


Since there is no way to suggest these things to the powers that be, hopefully enough people will see this post, up vote it, and then that will gain some eyeballs from the people that actually do the obviously terrible programming of these apps. it doesn't matter if your code is top notch, if the program does undesirable behavior with your customers, then it is still terrible programming


FIX THIS. I am tired of wasting my free time trying to fix my games, which means I actually DO NOT get much playing time!!!!

Windows 10 - OneDrive

This is Windows 10 Pro... Enterprise is an entirely different deal and I'm sure I won't have problems that route, but I'm not forking over more $ to dipshit developers. The only thing I can think of is un-linking my Office 365 accounts within Office, but that defeats the purpose of accessing the files ONLINE and managing them from there. I have two alumni accounts, not a single problem in Windows 7/8 until M$shit devs decided to integrate Onedrive. I've deleted, renamed, set read-only to "msosync.exe," ... but windows continues to add it again and again, and NOW I just noticed it's now linking to groove.exe, instead of onedrive. Sooo fn annoying!



Onedrive on Windows 10 is not an 'app' it is integrated. Plus I don't fool around with the Windows Store thoughtless developer child bullshit. Windows Store ought to be completely removed from the Windows platform all together. Also I do not intend to completely remove Onedrive, it defeats the purpose... the purpose is to REMOVE it from Windows Explorer navigation and startup.

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
