    Problems with InstallShield for Quake 4


    I'm trying to install Quake 4 on my computer for Windows 10, but I keep getting this error code 1607. It says it's unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime. Am I doing something wrong or is this game incompatible for Windows 10? PLEASE HELP!

    Quake 4 problem


    All that is required for Quake 4 to work in Win 10 is to install the Quake 4 Patch 1.4.2

    Cannot install Quake 4 into Windows 10

    Whenever I try to load Quake 4 onto my system, I receive the following "Access violation at address 7723B55B in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 1000A5D0". Previous to upgrading to Windows 10, I had Windows 7 (64 bit). Quake for is on the Windows 10
    compaability list and is supposed to run on Windows 10. I've tried installing with anti-virus off and on. I've also tried installing as administrator. Any suggestions?

    InstallShield application is corrupted or damaged. As an initial step to resolve your concern, we suggest that you rename the
    InstallShield folder by following these steps:

    • Locate the InstallShield folder under the C:\Programs File\Common Files\
    • Right-click the InstallShield folder, and then click
      Rename      .
    • Type InstallShield1, and then press ENTER.
    • Try to install the program.

    Note: Ensure that your account has administrative rights.
