  1. Problems with Microsoft Account non-existent email address

Approximately one year ago, after downloading the usual Microsoft updates, my system crashed. After a reboot and reverting to an earlier system restore point, everything seemed fine. However, a month or so after that I noticed that my Microsoft account had reverted to an old and now non-existent email address an old email UK provider called Freeserve that now no longer exists. 2. Problems with Microsoft Account non-existent email address

Approximately one year ago, after downloading the usual Microsoft updates, my system crashed. After a reboot and reverting to an earlier system restore point, everything seemed fine. However, a month or so after that I noticed that my Microsoft account had reverted to an old and now non-existent email address (an old email UK provider called Freeserve that now no longer exists). As everything else with my system seemed OK, I didn’t bother with trying to change it.

Now, because I urgently need to replace my motherboard and CPU (I am worried about my Windows digital retail product key). I have tried to change my Microsoft account email with no success. It seems that Microsoft needs to send a verification email to my old Freeserve email address; obviously I cannot receive or send emails from that account as it no longer exists, so I cannot change my primary account details, or even explain my particular problem to Microsoft Customer Support.

I have tried a myriad of problem choices in Microsoft Support, but cannot find a topic that covers my particular problem. Microsoft keeps checking my account and says that everything is fine.

    Please...Can anyone help me...?

  3. Non-Existent email address entered on registering Windows 10

I entered a non-existent email address by mistake, when registering Windows 10. Now I keep getting pop-up messages, saying that I need to verify thisaddress, which of course I can't. I have tried the following suggestion given to another user,
but it doesn't work for me. Does anyone have a better suggestion please?

Let's try the steps below and check if it helps:

    1. Click on the Start menu and select Settings.

    2. Now click on Accounts and click on Your Info.

    3. Click on Sign in with a Local account instead and follow the onscreen instruction to change the account to Local account.

    4. Now follow the same steps and select Sign in with Microsoft Account and follow the onscreen instruction to change the account to Microsoft Account. Use the Correct Microsoft account to configure the account.

  4. Problems with Microsoft Account non-existent email address

Microsoft is sending contest notifications to an old, non-existent email address.

    1. I would be suspicious of any email allegedly from Microsoft telling you that you could win $6500. There are too many scams of this nature out there.

    2. If you have a Microsoft account that's based on a non-existent email address, Microsoft shouldn't be sending anything to that address. Another reason to be suspicious.

    3. Regardless of the reason that this email account doesn't exist (you closed it, MS closed it for non-use, etc.) you can't reopen/recreate that account.

    4. If you can sign-in to the MS account, you can create a new alias with which you can access the account, but the original email address is gone forever.

The problem you presented is somewhat complex. Ask any follow-up questions you have.
