Windows 10: Problems with Microsoft photos app and placing images in mixed reality

I have an hp reverb g2 vr headset. I am trying to place images around the vr home for displays. The only thing I can find that shows how to do this says that I should open the photos app in VR, select a photo and at top left corner should be "pin to mixed reality" button. This is not displayed however, instead it shows "add to"Is there any way to fix this? I have been trying for months now to no avail. I tried resetting photos, I tried reinstalling it, I tried signing in and out of my microsoft account, I tried removing the pictures folder and adding it again. The last one was a mistake since

Dell Windows Mixed Reality randomly blacks out

1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?
   
3. What is the exact model of the Mixed Reality headset?
   
4. Which drivers did you try re-installing?

Method 1:



Try troubleshooting the headset by referring the section My headset displays are black from the article

Method 2:



Try re-installing Windows Mixed Reality Portal and see if that helps.

1. Press Windows + I keys together to open Settings.
   
2. Now click on Apps and select Apps & features
   
3. Search for Mixed Reality Portal and click on it
   
4. Now click on Uninstall
   

Then re-install the app from
Microsoft Store and see if the issue persists.

If you're trying to uninstall the Mixed Reality Portal, let's try uninstalling it thru the Settings app. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings.
  
• Click Mixed reality.
  
• Select Uninstall on the left pane.
  
• Click Uninstall.
