Windows 10: Problems with Microsoft Store and downloading Skype to P

I am unable to log into Microsoft store on pc to download Skype. I cannot change password since only verification method is old old landline that no longer exists. If I go into Microsoft acct on phone all info is correct and old # dies not appear anywhere. Mobile # however is connected to acct with yahoo email and if I try to enter # on Gmail acct it says # already taken. I think it's Gmail acct that is connected to Microsoft store on pc. I don't even know how I ended up with 2 Microsoft accts! So far I have not been able to download skype to pc. I really need to fix this somehow! Please help.

• Is this issue confined only to Skype app?
• Were you able to access any other apps from Windows Store?

Method 1: As an initial step, I would suggest you to follow the below steps and see if the issue can be resolved.

  Type troubleshooting in the

  Troubleshooting Windows.

  Select Windows store Apps.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instruction.
  

Method 2: Clear the Store cache

You may try these steps to clear the Store cache and check if it helps:

• Press the "Windows + R" keys on the keyboard.
• Type "wsreset.exe" and press "Enter".
• Reboot the computer and then check the issues with the App.

Windows update caused skype problem

• Are you using the Skype Desktop app (downloaded version)?
• Or, Are you using the Skype app pre-loaded with Windows?

If you are facing issue with the downloaded version of Skype, you may uninstall and reinstall the same and check.

To uninstall, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R.
• Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
• Locate Skype and right click on it to select uninstall.
• Follow the prompts.

If you are facing issue with the preloaded app, try the following methods.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the
Windows apps troubleshooter and check if the issue is

the Store.

Method 2: If the issue persists,
reset Windows Store by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

Resetting Windows store will clear, and empty the cache without changing account settings or deleting the installed apps. It is usually located in the
%SYSTEM% folder in the PC.

Downloading Skype
