Windows 10: Problems with Microsoft Word after transferring from Windows 10 to 11. Can anyone help Please?

Hello Everyone. I have just moved onto windows 11, along with all my desktop documents from my old computer. However, every time I click onto a word document it opens a new tab which is confusing. And if I go onto a new word document I am unable to save it onto my desktop and editing the existing desktop files isn't currently possible. I tried unlinking one drive but this hasn't helped.

it would've been great if microsoft added HEVC decoders, LAV filters along with other codecs with Windows 10, and developing WMP to be better than VLC, KMPlayer and such sorts of media players.

Nevertheless, this is good step for microsoft, by far.

 

How do I change (Read Only) on Microsoft Word


When I downloaded Windows 10 and used my Microsoft Word it was in (Read Only) and I tried looking up how to solve the problem including looking at properties on my document to uncheck read only, but it was already unchecked. I have tried all the steps suggested.

I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.
