Problems with Music Files in W10, using Windows Media Player

For some (not all) of my music files that I use in Windows Media player, I'm getting this message:

"The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.

To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page."

I don't use Internet Explorer, so why do I need the latest version? I can't discern a reason why IE 7+ is tied to music licenses. This only happened when I started using Windows 10.

    Thanks
    Carl

W10 recently changed all my wave music files to wma files, can't use them in my Magix music editor now?

W10 recently changed all my wave music files to wma files, can't use them in my Magix music editor now?

I have 53 gb of music files, all useless now because I don't use Windows Media Player. This has only happened recently.

Has anyone a suggestion how to change back.

I have no restore points although a month ago I restored the system. I also have have a backup on a flash drive but don't think that will help, doesn't it just restore W10 files?

    I'm considering re-installing W7, no such problems.

Windwos Media player - Music files are not updated with the Info from the Windows Library

I am using Windows Media player on a computer which was upgraded some months ago to Windows 10. When I am updating the Songs title, contributing artist, Music type (Rock, Pop).... the information is not written back to the Music files. Even using the Menu
"Organize / Apply Media Information changes" does not solve the problem. It is not a problem when you are using Windows Media player, but as soon as you are copying the Music files on another device (eg. NAS drive) and playing it with another player (Network
receiver) it displays the wrong Media information.

How to populate the changes from the Music library to the Music files ?

Microsoft Edge is not supported on downloading licenses or any other browser.

For this to work, you must set Windows Internet Explorer 11 as your default browser.

It should work after that. After setting IE11 as default, restart the system, and it should work.

After the licenses are downloaded, and your music files play, change your default back to your preferred browser

This works, but now I have the problem of easily identifying the albums that have the license problem. Is there any way to do that?

Guess I'll worry about it when I come to some.
