    Greetings,


    I've been having trouble with consistently opening .heic images when using my PC. I have Windows 10 build 19042 and use an iPhone. My photos sync to my OneDrive no problem, which then syncs to my desktop's Picture's folder. I downloaded the HEIF Image Extensions app and have tried resetting it to see if it resolved anything, with no luck.


    What happens is when I attempt to open a .heic image through File Explorer both in the OneDrive folder or in the Pictures folder under "This PC", the image is either very low resolution or produces the "We can't open this file" error. If I open the Photos app, however, and pull up any .heic images, they can be opened without any problems.


    I realize it's a minor inconvenience, I just thought it was very odd and was curious to see if any resolution existed. Thank you all for your time.

    Preview Pane for HEIC files in File Explorer?

    While Windows 10 will open HEIC files, once you have installed the plugin, Windows 10 cannot preview HEIC files in File Explorer, hopefully Microsoft ill add this as support for the HEIC format in Windows 10 becomes mainstream . . .

    I have the HEIC Image extensions and the HEVC video extensions on my Windows 10 PC but the TWINUI application will still not open the HEIC file. Any suggestions?

    I have tried converting it to JPG using the APowersoft application but it downloads the file to a location that does not seem to exist on my PC - "...Users/[user name]\AppData\temp...

    We need more information about your concern. Are you trying to convert and open other image format to HEIC? If yes, a certain program will be needed to open that kind of file, we suggest checking the Windows Store for programs that can convert other image
    format to HEIC. Make sure to download the program with the highest rating and good reviews.
