    Problems with restoring one partition


    @NavyLCDR Writing this status from my iPad I got all the way to performing a clean install and using Mini-Tool PM from the PE disk to create a space for my old image of Windows 10. Unfortunately (I think), my image is of my entire old drive with all the partitions - not of just the partition that holds my old version of Windows 10. Is there a way to restore just the correct partition to the unallocated space I created - or am I SNAFU? At this point,I need some clear directions. I'm hoping I don't have to start all over again. The only thing I've ever done with Macrium is to back up my entire drives. I'm not familiar with Macrium's other capabilities. Thank you.

    Is Windows RE used in Windows 10?

    Cloning usually causes problems of one type or another. You should consider creating an Image Back (include all the partitions and MBR / "Disk and partitions backup") and restoring it to your SSD.

    Unable to shrink the C drive beyond 455 GB

    I have been able to create the partitions successfully by disabling the hibernate, page swap file and restore point. After creating the partitions I have enabled them though.

    I have one more point to clarify . will it be enough to set system restore on for windows partition ?

    Is it effective if I turn on system restore for the other 3 partitions I have created along with c drive ?
