Windows 10: Problems with the size of directory columns after latest update

The latest Windows update has turned the usual easy business of manually resizing file directory columns into a nightmare. Now if I resize a column manually with my mouse, it covers up the columns to the right. This apparently has something to do with the fact that Windows now assigns pixel widths to columns when you click on "sort" or "group". The default pixel widths that Windows assigns are huge like 640 something, so even if I haven't manually hidden a column, half of my columns are off the screen. I would strongly urge Windows to roll back this "feature," until they get it right. I'm
