Windows 10: Problems with windows explorer - sometimes in an external USB SSD

My friend has a latest model 14 gen intel i9 14900K HP Z2 G9 desktop PC, windows 11 pro...Problems with windows explorer - sometimes in an external USB SSD exFAT EXAMPLE when go to a folder in Windows explorer C:/ or D:/ internal HDDs or SSDs, and copy a folder or files photos or video mp4 - he is prof photographer - to a subfolder in the SSD exFAT that has problems, appear the content but when returning later to this folder in the SSD maybe missing all files like not copied at all... but not always is this symptom... happens,... well?SSD is 4TB exFATUSB 3 Is anything to try o

Windows Explorer crashes whenever I open my external HDD or thumb drive in explorer..

Windows Explorer crashes whenever I open my external HDD or thumb drive in explorer..

So, I open up My Computer, open my F Drive and boom: "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and must close". It is really annoying! I am fine everywhere else in explorer, but something just screws up when I try the external HDD (USB) or my thumb drive.

Can anyone help?

 

Problem with external SSD

Hi,
I have a Samsung SSD T7 Portable External SSD. The unit has worked without a problem—I place it into the same USB Port each time…It shows up as (D on File Explorer; The files on the unit take up a small amount of space the 2TB.
My Dell runs Windows 10 Home--64-bit OS.

The unit is a back-up to my Samsung SSD T7 Touch which shows up as (F on File Explorer. The T7 Touch works perfectly.
Today when I plugged in the SSD T7 Portable External SSD there were no files.
On File Explorer it read:
T7_Set-up (D.
I placed Portable in different ports and get the same results.

Why would I have to set-up the SSD T7 Portable External SSD a second time?
Why are the files previously saved to the unit missing?

 

Windows Explorer crashes and thumbnails problem

Hi, I hope you can help me.
Windows Explorer is no longer showing thumbnails on files played by Windows Media Player. I've run cmd and regsvr32 shmedia.dll and regsvr32 shimgvw.dll. That seemed to solve the problem...but it created a different one. Now when I try to open a folder on an external hard drive it crashes. I read in an old 2008 post it was an avi file causing the problem and suggested the run cmd regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll. That solved the opening problem but recreated the thumbnail problem. Any help to achieve both functions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
