Windows 10: Problems with Xsplit+Elgato HD60S after updating windows to version 1803

dear people,


for 2 weeks I'm trying to fix an issue caused by windows update 1803

so what happened

I did a full windows recovery/wipe so a fresh start on my laptop.

installed the required programs like Xsplit and Elgato HD60S software.

made sure all drivers are updated too.

I loaded up the game streamer software and it all works smoothly for a whole day no issues or anything!


then I decided to update to 1803 it took a while, also when done made sure everything was updated also the drivers got checked.

after it was done and came back from work, the trouble started i wanted to start the Xsplit streaming software and I got errors,

device not available, check if the device is connected properly and not in use by another application

make sure source properties is closed (see video below to have a visual peek)

this error popup is random and can happen either 3x a minute or 1x per 10 minutes

I reinstalled the software, removed the drivers and reinstalled, checked if updated and everything seems fine

something in update 1803 is causing this Xsplit+Elgato HD60S to behave strangely

when I use just the Elgato software to stream i have no problems this only happens when with xsplit+Elgato


I also changed back about 3x to an older version of windows and then it works fine again.

does anyone have any clue what might be the problem?

I contacted Xsplit to and they are also working on the issue. could it be laptop related because I see no other posts about it (yet)

How to install Elgato HD60 game capture card in Compatibility mode on Windows 10

Sorry to know that you are willing to uninstall Windows 10 due to Elgato HD60 game capture card compatibility issue. I will certainly help you.

I suggest you to install the Elgato HD60 game software in Compatibility mode
and check if it resolves the issue.

A compatibility mode is a software mechanism in which a software either emulates an older version of software in order to allow incompatible software or files to remain compatible with the computer's newer hardware or software. Here's how:

1. Go to
manufacturer’s website and download the Driver’s setup file for your computer.

2. Press Windows Key + R on your desktop screen to go to Run box.

3. Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

4. Under Driver, expand, then right click and select Uninstall.

5. If you are prompted to Confirm then Confirm.

6. Go to the location where you had saved your downloaded setup files of the drivers and right click, then select

Properties.

7. Select Compatibility Tab.

8. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system

accordingly from the drop down list.

9. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.

If issue persists, you can go back to previous version of Windows without uninstalling the Windows 10. Refer below article for more information.

Going back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 from Windows 10

Hi. Ive upgraded to windows 10 and figured out how to use it properly. But, i'm a gamer and record my gameplay with with Elgato HD60 game capture card. My tower is highly capable of processing what the software needs, to say the least. I recently found out
after I installed windows 10 that Elgato is only supported by windows 7 and 8.1... so that is a big problem for me haha. I looked into how to uninstall windows 10 and to do that i need to sign out of my administrator. When i go to accounts i see that im signed
in but my question is.. how in the world do i sign out of administrator? If anyone knows a way to uninstall windows 10 easier please let me know as well. Thanks

 

No device found elgato hd60 help

I've found the problem and sorted it was down to a faultty USB cable that comes with the elgato hd 60 so I got my self a new and longer USB cable it's for PS3 controller.
