Windows 10: Problenms with Cantana

I have been trying to set up Cortana to allow me to dictate text for a large history project. So far I have been unsuccessful, the number of errors have made it unusable. I understand that there are facilities to train Cortana to your void, however when I access instructions to do this they all start with

- Load Cortana

- Click on the "Notebook Icon"


When I start Cortana I get a screen which has

- a microphone on the lower right.

- an ellipsis on the upper left which takes me to a menu of

- Sign Out

- Settings

- Feedback

- About


Nowhere do I find a "Notebook Icon" ?

What am I dong wrong ??

Cantana ?

What happened to Cantana which I downloaded last week, <worked well > Now gone ?

 

Start and Cantana doesn't function

The start icon and cantana box appears but doesn't respond

 

windows 10, cantana and outlook

Since loading windows and opening cantana, outlook opens immediately at start up and will not recognize password or close. I cannot acess my programs, taskmanager, or troubleshoot to make any changes.
