Windows 10: Processor Error when Installing Nikon Webcam Utility Software

Need some help! I've downloaded the finalized Nikon Webcam Utility software and I'm receiving this error This installation packet is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor." So, I've contacted Nikon and they responded me with this:


From Nikon: "As I had stated previously, I did escalate your case, however, we are not able to assist with this specific error that you are receiving. While the Surface Pro does have a standard Windows OS to run standard applications, our software is designed for use on PC hardware and therefore may not be compatible. For information on whether your device is capable on running such a program such as Webcam Utility, we recommend contacting Microsoft. "


I hope I'm not getting the mom and pop treatment here. So, far I've configured the emulation settings on the installation package in so many different ways, and still no changes. I previously had an issue with another program that wouldn't pop open, but found out that I had to change the emulation settings which helped. So, I thought I do try it out with this, and no go. I've done all the troubleshooting as best as I can, and yes I've tried in safe mode and no go as well.


There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on this, so I assume it's a Surface Pro X issue with the SQ1 processor running ARM. Is there a fix that Microsoft can help me with this?

Could you be referring to
this webcam utility from Nikon - with the word 'Beta' after its name?

Thanks Bulldog. Yes, that is what I am trying to install. The instructions from Nikon only say follow the Microsoft set up instructions. But, I never get to the Microsoft instructions. I did contact Nikon tech support and they said was to install it from
a folder. I had already saved it in a folder. So they were no help.

I downloaded this app from Nikon but I am unable to get it installed. When I click on the .exe file, I get the screen that asks if I want to run this app. I click yes, and then nothing happens. Nikon support has no answer.
