  1. Processor stuck at base clock

My laptop is running Windows 7, and I just noticed that my processor is running at 1.68 GHz locked. Which is my processors base clock actually it is 1.70, but it is almost the same. The turbo can go up to 2.70 GHz. On Windows 10 there was no problem, but on Windows 7, it is not going above 1.68 GHz. I tried using high performance and even tweaked the advanced power settings of processor, I tried using third party program like Throttlestop, but nothing worked. Intel SpeedStep is enabled in the BIOS.

    :)

Intel Gives Core i3 and Core i5 Dual-Core Processors K0 Stepping Update

Intel is giving some existing 32 nm "Clarkdale" based Core i3 and Core i5 processors an update. The processors will transition to the new K0 stepping from the existing C2 stepping. The parts that will be made on the K0 silicon are Core i3 models 530 (new sSPEC: SLBX7), 540 (new sSPEC: SLBTD) and Core i5 models 650 (new sSPEC: SLBTJ), 660/661 (SLBTK/SLBTB), 670 (SLBTL). Newer and upcoming models such as the i3-550, i3-560, i5-665K, and i5-680 are already being built on the K0 stepping die. Motherboards will require a BIOS update to support the new K0 stepping processors.

The K0 stepping change includes the following highlights:
    • New S-spec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • Extended CPUID will change from 0x00020652 to 0x00020655
    • Host RevID will change from 0x12 to 0x18
    • K0 stepping package is pin compatible with C2 stepping package
    • Adds Processor Context ID (PCID) support
The revised older SKUs that are built on K0 stepping will be market-available by October 16.

    Processor upgrade

Yes, just map it out, Step 1, step 2, step 3... and take your time.
I suggest reading any instructions for flashing the BIOS beforehand, best source: your printed manual.

Does the Gigabyte BIOS allow you to flash from within the BIOS using a USB thumb drive? That is the best way to do it. I've never felt comfortable with Windows based flash utilities or anything using online methods.

MSI 980ti stuck on low clocks and high tdp

Hi, I've recently reformated my system and since then one of my gpu is acting weird, frames are insanely low and its stuck on high tdp (160%), also the gpu's clock seems to be limited (135mhz idle and 405mhz in game)

This card was under a custom bios and was clocking around 1300mhz, never overheated/artifacted.

Heres what I've done (not in the exact order)

    • First I removed the working gpu to monitor the faulty one.

    • Did some research over the internet and tried a couple things out.

    • Tryed all of my power supply pci power cables/outputs.

    • Double checked if my windows/nvidia power settings were set to performance.

    • Unplugged my other screens, and tryed them one by one.

    • I did reset my bios settings to stock and then reformatted again.

    • I've tried out a couple drivers, ranging from 855.82 to latest.

    • I've flashed it to his stock bios, and even tryed a couple other MSI 980 ti bios, still not working like it shouldm, TDP and clock speeds are still the same, now its even lower (67.5mhz)

    • Then I tried to heat up the gpu in my oven as seen in some guides over the internet.

I'm pretty sure this gpu could work great again, it was working fine before I reformatted.
