Windows 10: Product ID validation

Discus and support Product ID validation in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; It wants me type my 25 number product id code to validate my account but I can't find where?     It wants me type my 25 number product id code to validate my account but I can't find where? A box A box will pop up asking for it but will disappear when the cursor gets near it. Any help would be much appreciated as I can't seem to contact Microsoft about this issue they want resolved. Thanks!

    Hi Russell,

    We appreciate the information you've provided regarding the product ID. To resolve your concern, we suggest that you do the following steps:

    • Click on Start and type: Command Prompt.
    • Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
    • Type: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey.
    • Press Enter. That should give you the product key to type in the activation.

    how do I get machine id for activation purposes?

    Hi Fred,

    Machine ID also known as Product ID is being used to identify the device. We suggest following the steps below to get the product ID of your device:

    • Type about your PC on the search box.
    • Look for the Product ID.

    product key/id

    Product ID is for MS Tech Support, while the Product Key is for OS installation/re-install validation and the more useful to store or have on hand, in case the key is not read from BIOS.
