Windows 10: Product information not valid

Valid Win7 Product Key not accepted by Win 10 upgrade

Hi,

I did not realise I had been at all vague, my apologies.

Unfortunately my neighbour now has his laptop back as I got nowhere. I have suggested he wait until the windows 10 upgrade system makes it available through windows update (it is in the queue).

As stated, I have tried running from the media created by the media creation tool to a USB (this is what I used to successfully upgrade my laptop and surface Pro). I have also run the media creation tool and opted for it to upgrade directly rather than save the files.

The operating system is Win7 Home premium OEM version. The key is valid and I re-validated it to be sure with the MS online actvation system. The laptop is 64-bit.

On each occasion it goes through the initial install steps and then gets to the screen where it asks for the product key.

On this screen there is no skip option and as the product key is not accepted, the only option is to cancel the install.

For some reason the upgrade seems to be taking a different path on this machine and does not give the skip option.

You can verify the information by following these steps, add the link where these steps are completed, simply if your password is valid, your Windows will be activated, it is the best way to know if the product key is valid.

Checking your activation status

To check the activation status in Windows 10, select Start button, >> then select Settings >> Update and security >> then select Activation. Your activation status will be displayed next to Activation.

I have created a thread on HP for over A MONTH and I have not gotten any useful answers.

I was installing Windows 7 updates and it was taking a long time with absolutely no activity so I force shut it down.



To my surprise, when I turned it back on it showed:



"WARNING!! Machine is not in committed state".

Product Information not valid

The following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid.

System BOARD (00A) -



Product Name

Product Configuration ID
Product Serial Number

Product SKU

I have contacted HP about this problem and I have sent my laptop to their repair centre, only to find it deemed UNREPAIRABLE due to it being End Of Life. "We no longer have the tooling to support this model." Is there anything I can do at all to fix this seemingly astrononically simple problem? Is there anybody that can help AT ALL? I am getting very impatient right now.

I don't know WHY I have to go so deep to get support for a problem that isn't even hardware related. Someone please give me any necessary software so I can solve this problem!

Additionally, I DID NOT replace the motherboard, it occurred by itself, I am not responsible for this error AT ALL.
