Windows 10: product key problem

Hi I have a new HP Computer and have put Office Home & Student 2016 product key code in. Pressed install button but now it still says install and when I look at product key number it is completely different to the one I entered but if I try and put mine in again it says this has been used. Help what can I do?

Please follow the below steps to resolve this issue:

Steps:

• Press and hold Windows key + R.
• Type ‘slui 3’.
• Enter your old product key and try to change product key
• Use the new product and check if you are able to activate.

i know the product id but forget the product key

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

Give us an update on what happens.
