Windows 10: Profileimagepath changed, now my profile has been deleted?

Hello everyone,Yesterday, I decided to change my user profile folder from "cex" to "Jack J". I did this by changing the profileimagepath name, and for some reason my account on this laptop has been deleted, along with my files? I've tried to install backup recover software, however this hasn't fixed the issue with my deleted account.One thing to note, is that I have checked the "netplwiz", and the user that I was originally signed in with is still there? I have also tried to "add a new user to this pc", and it just shows the "lusmgr" tab, with users and groups?I really need my files ad profile

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:

• Rebooted at least 6 times
• Enabled hidden Administrator
• Booted into Safe Mode
• Changed ProfileImagePath
• Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
• Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
• Rebooted and had temporary profile
• Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
• Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
• Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
• After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
• Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

 

Deleted ProfileImagePath in Registry Editor, How to recover profile??

I might be a **** for doing this...

Started with a Windows Update that happened...When I turned on my computer it kept "looping" and said could not update.

So I looked up a video that would solve this issue...Told me to go into the Registry Editor and delete files that had the "ProfileImagePath" in it so I did that in a few different folders.

After that Windows 10 reset itself back to default (****).....I spent all night resetting my Desktop Icons and my Internet browsers got deleted too I had to re-do all my Book marks as well....

Shutdown my computer lastnight & this morning turned it back on...Windows 10 put me into a "Temp Profile" and could no access my files.....and went back to default also!!

Is there a why to recover the ProfileImagePath files I deleted?.....Or am I screwed??

This worked PERFECT!!!....I got back almost everything......Some of my desktop stuff totally disappeared though...at least I know my profile wont be deleted now....I am happy now!
