  1. ProfileImagePath has suffix .000 after Build 1803

I have two machines DELL and LAPTOP with Win 10 PRO 64bit.
The first has successfully installed build 1803 which was initiated by Windows Update.
The second has twice installed build 1803 but with the very nasty side effect that the user folder had the suffix .000 added during the install process. Uninstalling and returning to build 1709 immediately rectified the situation in both cases.
I have one user profile which is set up a local account with administrator rights. Both machines are the same.
Does anyone know what causes this to happen? I have checked the registry on both machines. See attached screenshots for both machines. DELL installs the update OK, LAPTOP installs the update with the profile path as C:\Users\Hazel Jennings.000 and moves all the files to this folder causing many problems.
There must be something about the LAPTOP that causes this to happen. I have noticed from web searches that the problem has affected many other machines.
    Does anyone know the answer/solution?
    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Jon.ET Win User

After updating to the Windows 10 April 2018 build (1803) the DNS Suffix Search List behavior seems to have changed

After being updated to the Windows 10 April 2018 build (1803) the DNS Suffix Search List behavior seems to have changed and is no longer a combination of my Primary DNS Suffix (my Windows domain name) followed by my Connection-specific DNS Suffix (previous
    default Windows behavior).

This appears to be related to Windows 10 April 2018 build (1803) change in honoring DHCP option 119. All previous versions of the Windows DHCP client ignored option 119 but it now appears build 1803 honors this setting.

    Can anyone confirm?

  3. Windows OS 10 build 1803 appended user folder

In efforts to fix an issue with software constantly crashing (Nero 2017 Platinum), I learned that the issue could be cause from the latest Microsoft OS 10 update, build 1803. It created a second user name folder but with .000 appended. After searching the
web for issues relating to this, I found that one of the causes of the Nero software from crashing could be from the 1803 build update. Specifically using the Microsoft account to log into the computer. Which I did not do, I used the local account.

I found that you can "rollback" to and earlier version; however, I am unable to. While trying to fix the Nero crashes, I was told to remove all the temp files. Nero still was crashing after all the advised steps. In addition to the Nero debacle, I was having
problems with other software finding recently used files. This was because of the additional folder with the .000 appended. The software is being directed to the new folder. I moved all the files from the appended folder to the local account. I just want to
know now to get rid of the .000 folder and have my software "redirected" to the correct one.
