Windows 10: Program (any) Installation, error 0X800704C7

Hi all,


I've got a new laptop since 8 weeks and it has been running smooth as silk for about 7 of them. Since about a week every time I try to install a program of any sort, I'm getting the same error message: error 0X800704C7, The operation has been cancelled by the user.


This error message keeps on popping up with about every program I'm trying to install. The windows installer service is running, Defender says everything is okay, I'm at a complete loss here. This phenomenon started out of the blue and I don't have a clue on where to start looking.. Anyone able to give me a pointer?

*Edit* This error also applies to drivers for audiocontrollers and a driver for a TV I want to add in extended desktop mode.

OneDrive couldn't be installed error 0x800704C7

I get the below error when ever I boot up my system on windows 10.( About the System: came with a win 7 installation and win 8 CD upgraded to windows 10-No installation Disks available.

C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\17.3.5892.0626\FileSyncConfig.exe

The parameter is incorrect.

When I try to reinstall one drive I get the error code 0x800704C7



I keep getting such parameter is incorrect errors also when I try to reinstall different applications.

Please help.
