Windows 10: Program Files and Program Files x86 Under Windows.Old Disappeared After 1 Day

The windows setup delete the program files folders and Appdata after just 1 day.Suporte says it will last 10 days, but is a lie. After cornered with log prof they say that you should call local technician and pay for their mistakes.

Program Files and Program Files (x86) Under Windows.Old Disappeared After 1 Day

I have reset my Windows 10 yesterday and chose to keep my files. Windows installation created a folder named Windows.old were it kept a copy of the old user folders along with the old Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders.

For some reason, today, the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders disappeared but the Users folders are still there.

I'm wondering what happened ? I really need the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders as they contain lots of files that I need.

would appreciate any help.

 

Program Files and Program Files (x86) Under Windows.Old Disappeared After 1 Day

I did chose keep files during reset and it has been around 24 hours between the time I reset my Windows and the time the folders inside windows.old disappeared.

The folders I am referring to are C:\Program Files\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\ in the old windows and after the reset they were transferred to C:\windows.old\Program Files\ and C:\windows.old\Program Files (x86)\ along with c:\windows.old\users

However after about 24 hours C:\windows.old\Program Files\ and C:\windows.old\Program Files (x86)\ disappeared while c:\windows.old\users remains. I did not accidently delete them and they are not hidden.

 

Partitioning Program Files/Program Files(x86) from Windows 10 install?

In the coming week I will be installing Windows 10 Home on my new computer. I will be using an SSD and an HDD, the SSD for the OS, programs and games and the HDD for photos, music and all the other slow stuff.
So, my question. In case the OS were to ever get corrupted, or I had to reinstall the OS for any other reason, is it possible to have the SSD set up as follows; Partition 1 - OS, Partition 2 - Program Files/Program Files((x86) plus other associated folders/files) and Partition 3 for my games, so that any re-install does not wipe out my already installed programs?

I had no problem doing this in with my XP desktop(OS in C and Progs in D, although not perfect, but was never able to do it with Windows 7.

Can it be done?
