Windows 10: Program freezes in Windows 10

I have a problem with Windows 10 freezing. When I'm using Family Tree Maker program and Ancestry.com with a split screen, one window or both will freeze. I have to say this is not limited to only FTM program but others as well. When I open the Task Manager it shows a high percentage usage, 95 to 100% which immediately drops to a low figure of about 20%. This unfreezes the program but I have done NOTHING but open the Task Manager and instantly closing it. Nothing has been touched on the Task Manager. Does anyone else have this problem or know what causes it and how to fix it? Thanks.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows Creator Update Freezes Some Programs when typing

Thanks for the reply. Since the Creator's Update is giving you some issues, we suggest reverting back to the previous update. Here are the steps:

• Open Settings window.
• Click Update and Security, then Recovery.
• Select Get Started, under Go back section.

Once done, it will restart your PC. After the restart, please do check if you'll still experience freeze moments on any programs you are working on.
