  1. Program has hijacked my HDD

Alrighty so here a weird one for you. A while back my GF downloaded 'Age of Empire 1 complete v1.0c' and ever since then that's been the name of the HDD it's installed on.

Weird right? Well weirder yet is the fact that despite deleting renaming the HDD, deleting the AOE files and finally formatting the HDD the name is still. 'Age of Empires 1 complete v1.0c'. Has anyone ran into this issue before?

Hint: under diskmgmt.msc the HDD is displaying the name that I gave it when using the rename option through file explorer.

Yes this is seemingly a purely cosmetic thing and I'm sick of looking at it. If anyone can crack this annoying case for me I will marry your dad.

  2. Browser hijacked by safesurfs.com Malware

After reading what you went through I would strongly suggest you read the advice of Monkey57 and try his steps. Normally

    Browser hijackers
don't show this kind of behavior and more could be going on. Normally I don't suggest Resetting your computer but in this case....

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.
