Program launches in "suspended" state and after 2 seconds closes

Hello,I've been trying to fix a program on my computer for the past month. It always failed launching. To be more specific, it's a video game installed from steam. After many months of working perfectly fine, the game suddenly stopped launching. I reinstalled it several times, fully wiped steam from my computer and even wiped my external drive which I run the game off of.Then I messed with the firewall- didn't change a thing. So I checked what happens with the program when it gets launched in the the task manager. Then I noticed that, apparently, the game gets launched, gets suspended for those

    :)

  2. 3 second delay when using shortcut key to launch program

I tried your suggestion to disable the Superfetch service but it didn't work.

It's clear the issue is caused by certain metro apps in the "suspended" state (as reported by the "Process Explorer" application). The 3 second shortcut key launch delay can be cured by killing all suspended metro apps, but certain apps keep re-spawning
by themselves which make this a constantly recurring issue.

    Programs close after 2-3 seconds

    Hello,
(sorry if this is in the wrong place it's my first time here...)
Currently I am dealing with Windows 10 (20h2 hilariously the about windows tab closes shortly after opening too)randomly closing programs after opening them. It does not happen with everything.

Firefox Chrome and discord are fine, as well as steam itself, and battle.net. However, edge, actual games, notepad don't work. (this is not an extensive list)

These programs are installed in a range of places, for example google and firefox are on my ssd, the games mostly are on other hard drives. However, edge is also on my ssd.

It seems linked to the two hard drives (but also not completely)? but I'm not really sure I have checked for errors, and there are none on either drive.

I have tried some of the solutions in a thread on windows' forum but they have not worked.
(sfc did do something the first time and successfully rebuilt a file, after running again it says there are no issues present)
    sfc /scannow
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Both scan health and restore health said there was nothing wrong.

I'm really not sure what to do next, but would rather not reinstall windows if possible...

Thanks in advanced for the help. Program launches in "suspended" state and after 2 seconds closes :)

    Josh.

    EDIT:
I have just had a look at task manager while opening some of the programs and they are immediately suspended upon opening in task manager. Not sure if this is helpful or not.

3 second delay when using shortcut key to launch program

Thanks, I have read that now.

Certainly since disabling Superfetch the problem comes and goes, previously the issue would appear a few hours after boot, and stay until processes were manually killed or the PC was rebooted. So disabling Superfetch improved the situation but does not cure
    it.

I will keep the Action Centre suggestion in mind. I always read notifications quickly but your post suggests opening it and closing it anyway when the issue occurs so I will try that.

Other than that, it would seem some processes are launching and then being "suspended" periodically, irrespective of Superfetch, so what Microsoft need to fix is making it so that "suspended" processes cannot hold up the shortcut key executions.
