Windows 10: Program purpose-function

Hi, I see a lot of programs installed and I don't know what many of them do. I'd like to get rid of those I no longer use or are orphaned by an uninstall that didn't remove everything, but don't want to uninstall anything useful. I know how to show a list of installed programs but would also like a way to see what programs with obscure names like "qbpct.exe" does. Is there a way in Windows 11 to do that? Or an external program that does that? Thanks Chris

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

what programs or functions use dual core

Please list any programs or computer functions that use both cores of a dual core cpu. Im trying to figure out if there are any reasons to own one at present. I realize in the future there will be but im wonder about the here and now.

 

My search is not functioning

1. Use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. If you see only a handful programs listed by it click on the "more details" link.
3. Locate "Cortana" under background processes.
4. Right-click on the process and select "end task" from the context menu.

The Cortana process is reloaded right away by the operating system.
