    or u could just also download winrar it will turn ur iso file into a stack of books >double-click on the stack of books when it opens click wizard and it save files to desktop>once u have extracted the files u can run setup from ur desktop

    and install from there ....no need to burn files to disc.....i would suggest copying extracted files and the iso to a flash stick b4 u run setup though.....gl!

    Bootlooping Nightmare

    Did you burn the .iso using disc burning software so that all the files & folders were extracted to the disc or just burn the .iso directly to the disc? You have to do the former to make a boot disc.

    The word "disk" has expanded to include usb sticks. I could whine about definition but ok, I'll be more specific in the future. I meant DVD. A program to read the ISO and create a list of relevant info. Such as version, date, whatever. Could be a label or text. I suppose it could read a usb as well.

    I'll follow your link...

    ... looks promising. But a ui would be nice.

    Whilst the tutorial is written for a mounted ISO file, I believe it would also work with a bootable disk (DVD or USB disk) created from that file. I've not tried it. As such you would get some information about the disk as indicated in the tutorial, which could be applied to a label for that disk.

    I am aware of the use of disk in application to both rotating and non-rotating storage media. Your use of 'label' reminded me of programs for creating labels for DVDs.
